Description:

LightCycler 2.0 Instrument is a Real-Time PCR System, conforms to the European directive for in vitro diagnostic medical devices 98/79/EC for in vitro diagnostic use. It allows you to monitor amplification of 32 PCR products simultaneously, in real-time and online, with three different detection channels in multiplex experiments. The combination of LightCycler Capillaries and air-driven temperature control allows an entire 35-cycle run to be performed in as little as 30 minutes (with 20 µl capillaries) to 60 minutes (with 100 µl capillaries).

The LightCycler Carousel-Based System is ideally suited for a variety of applications in mono- or dual-color and multiplex assays. This is the result of the high precision thermocycling, state-of-the-art quantification software, and numerous system reagents and kits.

The LightCycler Capillaries (20 µl) are reaction vessels for the LightCycler Carousel-Based System Instruments and conform to the European directive for in vitro diagnostic medical devices 98/79/EC in combination with the LightCycler 2.0 Instrument. A glass capillary (5 x 96 capillaries pack size) is molded to a polypropylene reservoir, facilitating easy loading. A stopper provides a secure seal, significantly reducing the risk of contamination. The capillary can hold reaction volumes ranging from 10 to 20 µl.

The LightCycler 2.0 Sample Carousel (20 µl) has 32 positions to hold LightCycler Capillaries (20 µl). The LightCycler 2.0 Instrument positions capillaries (fitted into the sample carousel) precisely above the detection unit. The carousel is manufactured with a special plastic material (Peek), that is not only resistant to the temperature changes that occur during the thermal cycling process, but also maintains shape and dimensions during the process, a prerequisite for precise positioning and reproducible detection. It is provided to increase the throughput achievable with the LightCycler 2.0 Instrument.

The LightCycler Capping Tool is compatible with all LightCyclerCapillaries and simplifies the process of closing the LightCycler Capillaries. Apply this tool to remove a cap from the LightCycler Capillary box and place it directly onto a capillary that holds reaction mixture.
